Grimes
Claire Elise Boucher was born March 17, 1988. She is known as Grimes. There are many styles of her earlier music was described as "lo lo R&B" and "futuristic dance-pop". In addition, she has used elements of hip hop electronic, rock and hip hop. Her lyrics frequently address the themes of science fiction and feminists. There have been five albums. Growing up in Vancouver (later moving from there to Montreal), Grimes began independently releasing music at the end of the 2000s with two albums released, Geidi Primes and Halfaxa In 2010, she released her first album with Arbutus Records. She subsequently was signed to 4AD and gained acclaim after the release of her third studio album, Visions In 2012. Visions includes the singles "Genesis," and "Oblivion". Also, it was the recipient of the Juno Award of the Canadian Music Industry for Electronic Album of the Years. The album followed this and her album with her band, Art Angels, was released in the year 2015 and garnered the acclaim of critics, with several publications having named it the best album of 2015. [6] Her fifth album Miss Anthropocene, was released in 2020. Grimes is also a judge in Alter Ego, a music contest. She was a part that of Cyberpunk 2077 2020 role-playing game.
