Dina Meyer was born in Forest Hills, Queens, New York, but moved to Dix Hills, Long Island shortly before the end of her final year in junior high school. Two of her brothers are Gregory, her elder brother, and Evan. She began her career in the field of entertainment at nine years old and did modeling. Ron Stetson was her teacher at The Neighborhood Playhouse where she started studying Sanford Meisner's acting techniques for three years. Sandra Bullock and Michael Douglas were among the actors to receive this kind of instruction. Her first acting role came with Beverly Hills 90210. This required her moving out in Los Angeles. She was cast as the leading lady in Johnny Mnemonic in which she was able to perform almost every stunt her self, establishing her skills as an actress.
